Story

Often forgotten and hardly remembered, the stories of women in war have not always received the recognition they deserve.

This year, the focus is on Women in War, and I wanted to do something meaningful to raise awareness of the role women played during the First and Second World Wars, particularly those from Commonwealth countries.

On Saturday 20 June 2026, I will be walking the Circle Line route across central London, starting and finishing at Paddington. Along the way, we will stop at key memorials, creating a visible journey of remembrance across the city.

Each stop represents a different part of that story, from national recognition to individual acts of courage.

This is not just about looking back. It is about ensuring these stories are seen, heard and remembered.

By supporting this walk, you are helping to honour the legacy of these women and support the ongoing work of the Memorial Gates charity.
