Story
Parkinson's UK, Northern Ireland is CIWM NI Chair's Chosen Charity for 2025/26
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My Dad lived with Parkinson's Disease. There are around 4,000 people in NI who have a Parkinson's diagnosis.
From the point of diagnosis, my Dad and our family had much to learn about the disease and how we could provide the best care as it progressed. Over almost 10 years, my family, and many others in NI, benefited from the support and services provided by Parkinson's UK, Northern Ireland. This includes training and support of dedicated Parkinson's nurses in the health trusts.
In addition to raising awareness, Parkinson's UK works with over 100 volunteers across NI. The charity operates 9 local support groups, works with the NI Health Trusts to support training of dedicated nurses, and provides advisers to support patients and their families with advice on symptoms, medication, benefits and local services.
Your gift will allow Parkinson's UK to continue to support patients and families in NI, support training of Parkinson's nurses, and contribute to research into better treatments and ultimately a cure.
