Story

I have decided to do something different this year to give back. My challenge is to run and swim 150km in 25 days. This equates to 6km a day - I will break this down to a 5km run and 1km (100 length) swim per day.

I will be finishing my Prep School journey in July, and as I started my Prep journey the September after Daddy died it seems fitting to finish this part of my life in a positive way. I have had 15 terms of school since, so I want to complete 150km (10km for every term) by foot (running and walking) and water (swimming) while we are away in Menorca, which covers the time Daddy was in hospital after his accident and then his death.

Being a child and loosing a parent is overwhelming, difficult and unimaginable. Child Bereavement UK helps children and young people (up to age 25), parents, and families, to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. Child Bereavement UK also provide training to professionals, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families. This is something I feel passionate about having had to work through my own bereavement.

I have also asked my friends to give towards this charity instead of receiving presents for my birthday, as birthdays are always something of a double edged sword as someone is always going to be missing from my guest list.

Hopefully what I can raise can help others rebuild and conquer the impossible.

Thank you so much for your continued support, I will keep you updated on my progress as the challenge gets underway! First day will be the 10th July ending on the 4th August. This covers the ten days Daddy was on life support after his accident on the 17th July and his death day 27th July giving exactly a week before and a week after.

Let’s help children and families, because life can’t stand still.

All my love and thanks,

Chloé xx
