This year marks 30 years since I was diagnosed and successfully treated for malignant melanoma. I have many friends who have been affected by this disease and most recently a colleague who is currently recovering from surgery to remove a cancerous mole.

Leading up to the Yorkshire 3 peak challenge, I will be raising money in a variety of ways:

🥳As my 40th birthday approaches I am taking the opportunity to ask for donations to charity in lieu of birthday presents

🏃🏼‍♀️I will be taking part in some running events including la Parisienne 10k, the jolly holly jog in Ripon and any other events I find to sign up to in preparation for the main event.

🏔️ I will be walking the Yorkshire 3 peaks with local walking group the Centurions on 2nd March. To support our recovering colleague, my wonderful colleagues from Vitality dental care Guisborough will be joining me too. This is a 25 mile walk with 5000 feet of ascent, and unlike anything we’ve ever done.

Melanoma focus is a charity which provide information, guidance and support for patients, carers and healthcare professionals. They have built a community of melanoma specialists who underpin their commitment to melanoma education and research.
