ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential, 24 hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC

Listen Up is a nationwide initiative led by author and Honorary Member of the NSPCC Council, Christina Gabbitas. She collaborated with various police forces and organisations to conduct engaging writing sessions to help educate and give children adn young people a voice.

The initiative was inspired by a student from Rossett High School in Harrogate, who felt motivated to compose a poem following one of Christina’s presentations in partnership with North Yorkshire Police.

Together, they contribute to a powerful movement aimed at raising awareness and addressing county lines exploitation and associated crime. Project part funded by North Yorkshire Police with monies seized from criminals, YMCA Lincolnshire, Dean Coady OBE, and Christina Gabbitas.

The collection of 40 poems and lyrics by these young people are also FINALISTS in the People's Book Prize, you can vote for the authors here:
