Dad suddenly passed away on a cycling trip to Denia, Spain, aged 80 on 30 January 2024.

A lifelong sportsman; Dad was a local legend in cycling and he loved Rygby. Dad won many cycling championships in his lifetime and he was well respected by all due to the love and compassion he had for others, especially our late mother, Susan.

Dad was a fantastic father to us and a benevolent father figure and friend to many others. A true gentleman .

Dad rode for Wooden Spoon and many other children’s charities. Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby, funding life-changing projects across the UK and Ireland to support children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage.

Research shows that 1 in 10 children in the UK and Ireland have a disability and there are 3.5 million children in the UK living in poverty. These numbers continue to rise and more and more children need our help.

Their vision is that through the power of rugby, every child and young person has access to the same opportunities.
