Story

I lost my Mum when I was in my very early 20s. My Mum wasn't around when I had my children, and they have missed out on a lifetime of memories with her. Not a day goes by that I don't miss her.

Mum was in the Hospice of the Good Shepherd on and off before she died. I cannot thank the team who looked after her enough. It wasn't just the excellent nursing care that they gave, but the small things they did to make life more bearable in what was just the hardest time of our lives.

Matthew, Immy and I are running the ColourBlast this year for my Mum, and for all the others that the hospice has helped, and will help in years to come. Please if you can, support us to help make sure other families can be looked after too.

Hospice of the Good Shepherd supports patients in Chester, Cheshire West, Ellesmere Port and Deeside who are facing a life-limiting illness.

The Hospice's dedicated team of staff and healthcare professionals aim to meet the unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of those with a life-limiting illness, and help to maintain their dignity.

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides its services free of charge to its patients and costs £5.2million to run each year with just 17% of the funding received coming from statutory sources. The remaining 83% is raised from a range of fundraising events such as Foamtastic Colour Blast, the support of the generous local community in Cheshire. In addition,
