I'm running (jogging) the London Marathon on 21st April and because a few people have asked about fundraising, I've decided to raise money for the Memory Lane Cafe in Halifax - a charity local to us, that is used by my mother-in-law, Carol.

The Memory Lane Cafe in Halifax is open to anyone affected in any way by dementia, other memory problems or isolation. The cafe offers tea, coffee, cakes in an informal setting with games, music, chat, support and information. Carol goes to the Sowerby Bridge cafe; this means that she still has a place to go dancing - something that she loves to do.

Mt first run was on the 4th January - I wasn't a runner before (and probably won't be afterwards!) - and while it's been a steep learning curve and all-consuming at times, I've stuck to the plan and I'm almost ready to go.

Any donations, no matter how small will be greatfully received. I'm also going to apply for matched funding through my work, so any donations (up to £500) will be doubled.
