Trent 100 paddle attempt! · 21 July 2024

Every year we provide care and support to over 6,500 people across South East London, both at home and in the hospice. We passionately believe that everyone should have access to the best care at the end of their lives. We need to fundraise £16 million each year to continue our services

Story

On 19th July Charlotte, Charli and I will take on the Trent 100. This is a Paddleboard challenge attempt (note the word attempt!) to paddle 100k in two days. We’ll be delighted if get anywhere near 50 I think as it will be the furthest we’ve ever covered in a day. Thanks to Charlotte and Charli for ‘making’ me do this and letting me set up the fundraising. The photo is after a practice paddle - honest!

I’m doing this to support two charities close to Charlotte’s heart - Cure Leukaemia in memory of little Harry whose annual memorial golf day is on 19th July and St Christopher’s Hospice in memory of Sam. Please donate to support one or both of them.

Tragically Harry passed away on 21st September 2016, it was 8 days after his 6th birthday. Debbie (Charlotte’s cousin) and Matt and all of their friends and family regularly take on fundraising in memory of Harry - Matt and his team even ran to Paris - so this is a small attempt to raise some much needed funds for Cure Leukaemia.

Charlotte lost her beautiful friend Sam in June 2023, and during her time in St Christopher’s she felt safe and cared for. She loved spending time in the garden with her family, Damian, Louis, Oscar and Eliza, and sometimes Mabel the dog. She is much missed we’d love to raise some money in her memory as St Christopher’s is where Charlotte got to say goodbye to her.

Both charities rely on donations to support their amazing work.

Thank you and wish us luck!
