Story
During September Bella & I will take part in a number of challenges to raise money for CCLG: The Children & Young People’s Cancer Association, a charity dedicated to creating a brighter future for children and young people with cancer.
In December 2023, my dear friends Rachael and Scott were given the heartbreaking news that their daughter Mabel who was 3 at the time had cancer. After undergoing numerous operations and chemotherapy, Mabel was thankfully given the all clear in April the following year. They all faced this devastating time with such bravery, especially Mabel who was such a superstar - I have no words for what a strong little girl she is! She is my hero!
And Rachael and Scott - navigating every parents worst nightmare, they faced it all with an unbelievable amount of courage and strength. Throughout, they were supported by charities such as CCLG, whether it be funding the research or providing little treats for them, all of which mean such a lot to families at times like these.
Rachael is now campaigning to ensure that all families facing this situation also get government funding from the day that their child is diagnosed, and she fundraises tirelessly to give something to the charities to help other families.
I will be be joining Rachael and Scott on 20th September on the ‘Big Hike’ - a 13.2 mile hike around the Peak District
Then on 28th September I will be joining Bella in the Robin Hood Mini Marathon. When we entered, I asked if she would like to raise money for anything and straight away her answer was to do it for cancer.
The cover page on here was taken last week. Mabel is now thriving.
Every little helps, and it really does make a difference to families. Bella is determined to raise as much as she can for Mabel and other children ❤️
