In Lebanon, families experiencing trauma after a crisis lack dedicated spaces for emotional support. Witnessing the distress of loved ones in hospitals, especially for children, can lead to long-term psychological impacts, heightening anxiety and stress in already challenging environments. Building on FAJR's proven success in the West Bank, we’re excited to bring the Family Support Area to Sibline Hospital, Lebanon’s first project of its kind.

The Family Support Area offers a calm, child-friendly space where families can gather after a mass casualty event. This will allow medical teams to focus on patient care while providing families, especially children, with critical psychosocial support. Positioned away from the emergency room, this area will be a refuge for families awaiting news and a nurturing environment where children can find relief and comfort in times of crisis.

Safe Haven for Children: With toys, comfort items, and trained support, children will have a designated space to cope, away from traumatic scenes.

Reduced Burden on Medical Staff: By alleviating emotional distress outside the emergency department, doctors can focus on saving lives.

Support for Families: Parents will have a calm space to process updates about their loved ones, shielded from the chaos of the ER.

Replicable Model: With your help, this Sibline Hospital project will be the first of many. Success here will pave the way to replicate this model across Southern Lebanon, offering a sustainable solution to families in need.

We have set an ambitious target to ensure we meet our primary needs and have the opportunity to extend our support to those in urgent need. In light of the current situation in the West Bank and the blocking of UNRWA, we recognize that many lives are being impacted. Any funds raised beyond our initial goal will be directly allocated to our West Bank relief campaign to provide winter clothes, food baskets, warm blankets, and heating tools.
