Claire's fundraiser for National Autistic Society

Claire McEvoy is raising money for National Autistic Society

Belfast City Marathon · 3 May 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

On Sunday 3rd May I will be running my first ever marathon, in Belfast, to raise vital funds for the National Autistic Society. This is a charity that I hold close to my heart. I frequently find myself in awe of my daughter Ciara, who has recently received a diagnosis of Autism. The resilience that she shows in navigating a world designed for those who are neurotypical is astounding. School, social situations, and daily life can be a challenge for her. I wish for her and those like her to be given the opportunity to thrive in a world where neurodiversity is understood and reasonable adjustments are made.

The National Autistic Society does incredible work in providing support, guidance, and campaigning for the rights of autistic people and their families. Every autistic child deserves a world that hears them, supports them, understands them and celebrates them exactly as they are. Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much,

Claire
