Virtual walk around the perimeter of Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia

In Southern Africa, the ban on international travel due to COVID-19 devastated an economy reliant on tourism. In Dambwa Forest on the outskirts of the Zambian city of Livingstone, 42 captive lions saw the collapse of the conservation project supporting them. Livingstone Lions formed to rescue them.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am a Trustee of the Charity Livingstone Lions which has taken on the responsibility of caring for a group of captive bred lions who are based in Livingstone, Zambia.

I have put together a team who will be taking on the challenge of completing the steps it would take to walk around the perimeter of Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia.

The team consists of myself, Margaret O'Neill, Jackie Abell, Tracy Gascoigne, Georgie Greenway, Helen Mylne, Chantelle McLaren-Smith, Frank Cowburn, Karoline Brun, Beth Hughes, Gemma Cowburn, Adam Wilson, Marius Torheim and Fla Viie,

The walk is a total of 9,736km and would take approximately 12,182,500 steps to complete.

We will be starting this challenge on 1 June and aim to complete this within 90 days.

Any sponsors go directly to the lions' care and are gratefully received.
