In memory of Alec Orange Memorial Tournament - 13th September 2025

Nohl is getting the chop! · 6 September 2025

Mary Stevens Hospice provides specialist holistic care free of charge for adults with life-limiting illnesses and their families in the Dudley Borough. More than 80% of the £3.5m annual costs are paid for by donations and funds raised by supporters from a compassionate, local community.

Story

As our charity football tournament in honour of Alec Orange is in full swing now, his nephew and our son Nohl has made a brave decision to shave his gorgeous hair off to help support an amazing cause in his name!

Alec tragically passed away from a sudden cardiac arrest in late 2024, leaving behind his family and young son Max.

We feel that a day of football and family fun is the most appropriate way to celebrate Alec’s life, due to his lifelong passion for the game, and the many friends and connections he made playing locally.

Kewford Eagles Football Club have kindly offered us the use of their facility for the afternoon of Saturday 13th September, at no cost. This is a fantastic gesture of goodwill, which will allow us to maximise the proportion of funds which we can donate to our preferred charity, Mary Stevens Hospice.

We will be collecting money from the participating players via bank transfer, but we have also created a donation page, so that wider friends and family can support this fantastic charity.

The day will be taking place from approximately 13:00PM to 19:00PM, with trophies and presentation at DK Rugby Club afterward. There will be stalls and fair for families, and we would welcome everyone to attend!
