Story
On 3rd July 2026 I’ll be attempting The Essex Way Ultra Marathon — an incredible 134km challenge, running from Epping to Harwich in under 24 hours — to raise money for a cause that’s very close to my heart: Essex Search and Rescue.
Although I have been running for several years, I only discovered my love for it in 2025 and this will be by far the biggest challenge I’ve ever attempted. Every step I take will be in support of an amazing team of volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to helping others in need.
Essex Search and Rescue is on call 24/7 to search for vulnerable missing people across the county. In 2022 alone, the team deployed 114 times — the highest number in their 20-year history. Whether on foot, with dogs, bikes, canoes, or drones, their mission is simple but vital: to find the missing and bring them home safely.
The charity is entirely run by volunteers and relies solely on donations to keep going. It costs around £25,000 every year just to operate — before any major purchases or equipment replacements. Every single penny raised helps ensure that Essex Search and Rescue can continue its life-saving work.
If you can, please support my run and help me make a difference.
Every donation, no matter how small, truly counts.
