Story
Earlier this year I had the privilege of volunteering in Malawi with Medic to Medic — a UK-registered charity that supports trainee health professionals who have academic potential but lack financial resources. In Malawi alone Medic to Medic supports around 80–100 students at any one time, across many disciplines including medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy, radiography and more.
The charity doesn’t just pay tuition fees — it also helps to provide allowances, medical equipment, textbooks, and other essentials so that students can focus on their studies rather than financial hardship.
These students are the future nurses, clinicians and allied-health professionals who will fill massive gaps in Malawi’s under-resourced health system — a system where many communities currently lack reliable access to medical care.
To support this vital work, we are taking on the Oman Desert Marathon this January — 165KM self supported in 5 days - a tough but meaningful challenge. If you’re able, we’d be incredibly grateful for any donation, big or small.
Every pound will help Medic to Medic continue supporting talented students who otherwise might never be able to complete their healthcare training.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support ❤️
