Hi Everyone
This summer, I’m very excited and grateful to be joining the Clipper 2025-26 Race—a global circumnavigation sailing event where ten 70-ft yachts compete to win this round-the-world race. The Clipper Race is made up of 8 legs, and I’ll be participating in the first two—covering a total of 9,850 miles.
We set sail from Gosport on August 31st, 2025, with our sights set on Cape Town, where we’ll arrive by mid-November 2025. Our route will take us through Cadiz in southern Spain. Then, taking advantage of the Atlantic trade winds, we will head toward Montevideo in Uruguay before crossing the Southern Atlantic Ocean to Cape Town.
My adventure ends in Cape Town, but my teammates will continue the race for another six legs and 32,100 miles, through the Southern Ocean to Australia, then on to China, across the vast Pacific Ocean to Seattle, and through the iconic Panama Canal to Washington. The race ends in July 2026 with the final leg into Gosport.
The Clipper Race is truly unique, offering amateur sailors like me the opportunity to experience something extraordinary. I do not doubt that this will be one of the most challenging, rewarding, and exhilarating experiences of my life.

Since the Clipper Race first teamed up with UNICEF in the 2015-16 edition, the partnership has raised over £1.6 million to support children worldwide. This year marks the tenth anniversary of that collaboration. As we race around the world, our goal is not only to compete but to continue raising vital funds for UNICEF’s work. Each team is thinking creatively and passionately about how we can contribute to this mission.
I’ve already started my fundraising journey and am planning a variety of events in the year ahead to support our target. Any contribution you would like to make will be very much appreciated.
