Story

I'm excited to share that I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on April 12, 2026, as part of Team Dementia UK. My motivation for participating in this event stems from a deep understanding of the vital work that Dementia UK does through their specialist dementia nurses, known as Admiral Nurses. These dedicated professionals provide life-changing support to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease.

Dementia is not just a challenge for those diagnosed; it profoundly impacts their families and friends as well. Having witnessed this firsthand in my own family, and also within my career working with all different stages and their families.

I know how devastating it can be to care for a loved one who is slowly taken away by this condition. The emotional toll is immense, and that’s why I am committed to raising awareness and funds for Dementia UK.

Although I am not an experienced runner, I am determined to give it my all. I've already begun my training journey, starting small and gradually building up my endurance over the next year leading up to the half marathon. Some may think I'm a bit mad or perhaps experiencing a midlife crisis, but I believe in the cause and want to make a difference.

I kindly ask for your support in this endeavor. Every penny raised will go directly to an incredible charity that provides essential care and support to those affected by dementia. My target is £450, and with your help, we can make a significant impact together. If you feel inspired to contribute or support me in any way, please do so. Thank you for considering this important cause.
