Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In November 2019 we lost our wonderful Aunt Gaynor to MND, in December 2023 my beautiful mum was diagnosed with MND and sadly passed away on 7th February 2026, and in the most horrific turn of events my 97 year old Nana/Grandnana was diagnosed with bulbar onset MND in December 2024 and lost her battle in January 2025. This disease has torn our family apart, and we will continue to fundraise to find a cure but also so charities can continue to support people living with MND.
For anyone who knows me I am NOT a runner, and since Mum has passed away I have found training even more challenging. Both my mental and physical resilience has diminished. I wanted to challenge myself with this run, but I thought my mum was going to see me finish 🥲 How I’m going to make it round - I’ll never know!
I am raising money for The My Name’s Doddie Foundation.
This charity leaves no stone unturned in the relentless pursuit of to fund, guide and find the most efficient research into MND to hopefully catalyse a cure for motor neuron disease.
Not to mention Doddie Weir was a Scot, and my Nana, aunt and Mum all hail from Edinburgh! 🏴
I appreciate every penny donated, it will definitely keep me going in my effort to train and complete this half marathon 😅
Thank you ✨
