Story
Four Military Wives, One Chef, One Big Desert, and a Lot of Sand in All the Wrong Places
I’m teaming up with my friends Katherine, Sabrina, James and Kelly to trek the actual Sahara Desert. Why? Partly because we’ve clearly lost all sense. But mainly because Aggie Weston’s hasn’t.
Aggie Weston’s is the quiet hero behind so many Royal Navy and Royal Marines families. When you’re miles from home, managing deployments, parenting solo, or just trying to hold things together, Aggies is there. A listening ear, a moment to breathe, someone who genuinely understands. They’re not loud, they’re not flashy, they simply show up with kindness and compassion, right when families need it most.
So while one of us is still navigating military life, three of us have the benefit of hindsight, and our chef spends his days working on military bases, we thought we’d brave the heat, the blisters, and the very real risk of camel-related humiliation to raise money for a charity that has supported military families for generations. Just with fewer blisters and better footwear.
Please support us as we sweat, swear, and stumble our way across the Sahara. Every donation helps this brilliant charity keep walking alongside others long after we’ve dragged ourselves back to the hotel for a very well-earned cold drink.
Each of us are committed to raising £2K each. So once I have reached my target, I'll add links here to support the others. A portion of the funds raised will contribute to the cost of our participation in the challenge.
