English Channel Relay Crossing

At Level Water, we use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water.

Story

Between the 10th and 15th September I’m going to be part of the Oceans 6 relay team and we will attempt to make history by swimming across the English Channel through tankers, jellyfish and choppy conditions as the team with the biggest age gap by potentially 10 years! My target of £530 reflects the 53 year age gap between me (16) and the oldest swimmer (69).

I have been swimming since I was a baby but it was in 2019 that I fell in love with swimming the channel. I completed a relay in 2022 so this will be my second! (Plus I have a solo booked for 2025)

As someone with hidden disabilities I have found swimming mentally and physically beneficial and the water is my happy place.

I recognise that not everyone is as fortunate as I am and so would like to raise money for the charity Level Water.

Level water use the power of swimming to improve the lives for children with disabilities.

Swimming is like nothing else. The skills you develop, the confidence you build and the joys you feel are all universal. Yet access to swimming in the UK is not. Level water give the opportunity to children to learn to swim and fall in love with the water.
