Great North Run 2024 · 8 September 2024 ·

Saving Lives Through Your Support. Each life-saving mission costs £3,500 and on average, we are called to at least five emergencies everyday. It is only thanks to the generosity of the communities that we serve that we are able keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.

Story

We will be running the Great North Run 2024 during Air Ambulance week.

Together, with some of our air ambulance colleagues from across the UK, we hope to improve visibility of women working within helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) and encourage other women to apply for roles in what is still seen as a male dominated career.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance brings an advanced critical care team to people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight when they need it most.

Highly skilled crews of Doctors, Paramedics and Pilots can be at the scene of an incident within minutes.

It currently costs in excess of £17,750 a day to maintain our life saving service, and it is only thanks to the generosity of the communities that we serve that we are able keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.
