Clare Carpenter and Ruby Carpenter-Timmis are undertaking the mud run Kernow Killer, on the 12th of April 2026 to raise funds for the Claire Chick Nursing fund. Claire was a huge part of our lives and we wanted to do something that she would have thought was mad to try and raise some vital funds for this cause. We love you Claire and are sure you’ll be laughing at us the whole way round!

Claire was a dedicated nurse and a passionate advocate for student nurses, always championing opportunities and supporting the next generation of the profession.

With the support of her family, friends, and colleagues, this fund will continue Claire’s legacy by supporting student nurses through the Nursing Fund. It will provide travel bursaries, support for those facing financial or personal hardship, and other vital assistance to ensure that all nursing students — regardless of background or circumstance — can make the most of their education and go on to make a difference in our communities.

Claire believed deeply in the difference nurses make in the world, and we know she would be proud to see this work continue in her name.
