Clare's fundraiser for The Rowans Hospice

Great South Run 2024 · 20 October 2024 ·
My wonderful mum, Ann Barrett, sadly passed away on 5th January 2024 after a valiant battle against kidney cancer that unfortunately had spread to her Brain. Mum was a true warrior and such an inspiration as she underwent her treatment, including surgery to remove the brain tumour. Mum fought to the end and never gave up hope of beating this terrible disease. Mum spent her final days at The Rowans Hospice, who gave her so much love, care and dignity in her final days. The staff at The Rowans Hospice are absolutely amazing and there wasn’t anything that they wouldn’t do to give Mum comfort and peace in her final hours. The care that The Rowans Hospice give to their patients is second to none and I want to do all I can to raise as much money for this amazing charity who continue to support my family after Mum’s passing.
Rowans Hospice provide palliative care to the highest quality for those living with a life-limiting illness in South East Hampshire. Our hospice carers help improve quality of life for the patient by easing physical symptoms and offering psychological, spiritual and social support to both patients and their loved ones. Hospice care is available round the clock. We receive a very small level of statutory support from the Government, however, almost all of the money needed to provide our services has to be raised through donations and fundraising
