Clare's fundraiser for Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity

Clare Elphick is raising money for Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity
Celebrating the birthday of Steven Elphick

on 10 January 2026

Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity (Alex TLC) was founded in 2004 by a mother whose two sons had been diagnosed with leukodystrophy. She recognised the severe lack of information and support available and wanted to make sure that no one had to face leukodystrophy alone.

Story

Alextlc is a charity very close to our hearts. They have supported us as a family since 2011 when Ollie and Ed were both diagnosed with ALD. We now like to help them in supporting other families with Leukodystrophies. So as Steven is celebrating his 60th Birthday we would like to raise some much needed funds for them 💙

Leukodystrophies are rare genetic disorders that mainly affect the white matter of the central nervous system (ie the brain or spinal cord). They affect people of all ages and backgrounds, most notably children.

Leukodystrophies are usually degenerative, causing symptoms such as impaired mobility, vision, speech and hearing, incontinence, and loss of cognitive skills. In many cases, this sadly means a reduced or limited lifespan.

Your donation will help Alex TLC continue to provide the best support possible to those affected.
