Story
As you may know, I’ve been recovering from major bowel surgery that I had 6 months ago. It was my toughest time, but one of the things that kept me going was the thought of running the Thame 10k again!
For 12 years, this race has been a staple in my calendar & a personal challenge. This year, it's more than that. It's a symbol of recovery and a way to give back. This year's run will undoubtedly be different. My pace will be slower, but I'll be determined to cross the finish line. Why? Because every step I take represents a step forward in my own journey, and a step towards helping others facing similar challenges.
I'm running to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK. So many people seem to be affected by it & raising awareness is so important (I had no symptoms so the screening programme was crucial). It will be good to support research and new developments to improve early detection, treatment, and ultimately, survival rates.
I look forward to running alongside great friends who have been a rock for me, Clare, Ellen, Kitty & Daniel during this time. Their support has meant the world to us.
Every donation (a fiver is fine) will make a difference.
Thank you for your support & I pray for a cloudy day!
