Story
On Wednesday 28th February 2024, little Lilly Grace Conlon was born sleeping after her Mum Jane went in to premature labour at just 19 weeks.
Jane and Luke had journeyed through 9 years of gruelling IVF treatment, enduring miscarriages and unsuccessful attempts along the way.
After their last and final round, were overjoyed to be finally expecting their precious little baby in July this year.
Devastatingly their chance to be parents has been taken away from them.
After Lilly was born, Jane became gravely ill and was whisked off to the high dependency unit where the team there treated her for sepsis. They saved her life.
Jane being the selfless, beautiful soul she is, whilst sat heartbroken on FaceTime from her hospital bed, told me she wished she could give something back to the nurses and hospital because in her words, she felt completely cared for and so safe.
We are all eternally grateful to the hospital staff for saving Jane’s life but also to the Honeysuckle team who offer Fantastic support for families like Jane & Luke’s.
The hospital is in desperate need of funds for new bereavement suites.
Liverpool Women's Hospital Charity must raise £100,000 to make these suites as comfortable as possible for families by introducing
Soundproofing to protect families from the sounds on the wards
LED cloud lighting to create a calm atmosphere for during clinical procedures
A pull-down double bed to allow partners to stay so families can remain together
Comfortable furniture and basic amenities such as a kettle and microwave to create a self contained space
Artwork to create a peaceful and relaxing environment
Soft furnishings to create a home-from-home.
On June 15th 2024 I will be taking part in a challenge organised by a member of Hiking Buddies UK, where myself and a group of 10 others will be climbing 15 mountains in 7 days, The Welsh 3000.
I would like to do this to honour little Lilly Grace, and to hopefully raise as many funds as possible to give something back to the place which saved my best friend’s life and supported her and her husband through the worst time of their lives.
We would be eternally grateful for any support you can offer, no matter how small, even the cost of a cup of coffee! Anything to help us help them.
With Love and thanks
Clare, Jane and Luke
