Story
My decision to "run" my first Marathon at 53 may be the sign of a delayed midlife crisis, but since I'm doing it, I'd love to raise some money for a great cause. This will hopefully keep me going through the long, Winter runs and aching limbs.
I have chosen to support the Samaritans, who literally save lives every day. With mental health issues at an all time high, these angels need our support now more than ever. On a personal note, it is because of the Samaritans that someone I love is still around today and for that I am deeply grateful. That has to be worth fundraising for.
Every step I take and pound we raise could help train more volunteers, answer more calls for help and, ultimately, save lives. I'm running to show millions of people that no matter what they're facing, a Samaritan will face it with them. Any amount you can give will be hugely appreciated.
P.S. My profile pic is from a long time ago & probably the last time I ran - hopefully there'll be no mud involved in the Marathon!
