Story
We said goodbye to our beautiful Mum on New Year’s Eve 2023, after a long and heartbreaking journey with dementia. Watching her slowly slip away was one of the most painful, isolating, and distressing experiences of my life.
Even with the support and financial resources we were lucky to have, it was incredibly hard. I often think about the countless families who face this same journey without that kind of help — and I can’t bear the thought of them doing it alone.
That’s why, this June, I’m taking on a challenge: swimming 10K over 14 days to raise funds for Dementia UK a charity that provides free support to families on the Dementia journey.
Your donation, no matter the size, can make a real impact:
£8 could cover the cost of two calls to Dementia UK’s free Helpline, providing vital guidance and reassurance.
£33 could fund an hour of expert support from an Admiral Nurse — someone who can help a family navigate the toughest moments with practical advice and emotional care.
One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime. Together, we can make sure no one has to face it alone.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. 💙
