Clare's SVP Camino Trek

Clare O'Brien is raising money for St Vincent De Paul Society (SVP England and Wales)

Walking 109k of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela · 11 April 2026

The St Vincent de Paul Society (England & Wales) is a Christian voluntary organisation which provides practical help to anyone affected by poverty and disadvantage. Our 10,000 volunteers offer friendship to people who are lonely or isolated and we deliver specialist services in local communities.

Story

So, why am I walking 68 miles in 6 days? Because the SVP is one of the few things in life worth getting blisters for. Over the last 30 years of volunteering with this great charity I've seen how the SVP helps families through some of their toughest times.

In the last few weeks in my area, we've visited people who live alone and would like some company, sorted their shopping, helped with form filling, made phone calls, and helped buy school uniform.

The SVP needs your support to give people a hand-up when life becomes a struggle.

Please donate now and help us reach more people than ever (any advice on avoiding blisters would also be appreciated!).

All donations go straight to the SVP, I'm paying for the trip myself.
