Orchard Brae School supports children with complex additional support needs from across Aberdeen. The Friends of Orchard Brae assist the school in accessing specialist resources such as minibuses to allow pupils to get out into the wider community and specialist resources to support play and regulation. The work of the Friends is greatly appreciated by the school and provides access to a greater range of opportunities.

As with our school, our 5k run / walk is inclusive and people of all abilities are warmly invited to join us. Our event is free but donations will be gratefully received.

On a personal level, the OB 5k started in 2019 when I ran my first London Marathon. As a regular runner I don’t like asking for sponsorship for what’s essentially my hobby, hence the 5k. This year, however, I’ve managed to combine working full-time with part-time study and training for Kirkhill 8; it will be a challenge as I’ve not done as much as I feel I should have. I’m also planning to run a marathon in September, so any donations from friends & family are welcome.
