Story
Music changed my life.
But that's because tuition and county ensembles were free when I was growing up. For many students today, it's just not possible to access music education because their parents cannot afford the tuition.
That's why I'm raising money for the Wandsworth Music bursary fund.
My motivation for starting this fundraiser is to support a particular student (X) who I've been teaching for a few years. He's a great lad, who has faced a significant number of challenges in his life but who has a real talent for music. I can't share his personal details here because he'd be identifiable but, if I could, your hearts would break and you'd want to help him.
X's lesson costs are covered generously by a Music of Life funded bursary, but he would really benefit from being able to access the ensembles at our Saturday Music Academy to stretch him further.
I'm aiming to raise enough to cover his fees for a year. All donations, however small, will make a massive difference. Any extra raised will go to help subsidise fees for other students who need it.
Thank you for reading, and for thinking about supporting X. You can click below (or maybe it's to the right, or the left, who knows?!) to donate. Thank you very much indeed.
