Sahara Trek · 27 October 2026 to 1 November 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

From 27th October to 1st November 2026, we’ll take on the challenge of trekking through the breathtaking Sahara Desert. Over four days, we’ll cross shifting landscapes and climb the mighty Chigaga Dunes by day, and sleep under the stars by night.

Story

From 27th October to 1st November 2026, I’ll be trekking the Sahara Desert, crossing shifting landscapes and climbing the mighty Chigaga Dunes to witness a desert sunrise.

It won’t be easy. The heat and terrain will test us, but every moment of exhaustion is a reminder of why we’re there. The reward of conquering the desert with the High Atlas Mountains as our backdrop will be unforgettable, but the true purpose is ensuring Saint Michael’s Hospice can continue providing expert care and bereavement support to local families.

This journey is more than an adventure, it’s a mission to support our community. While we navigate the desert, your kindness helps local people navigate their own difficult journeys. Please consider donating today to help turn this challenge into a lasting impact. Thank you for supporting me as I raise money for a charity that means so much to me.

Many years ago, as a student nurse, I witnessed first-hand the incredible, compassionate care they provide and the difference they make to patients and their families during the most difficult times. Those experiences have stayed with me ever since.

Recently, I heard an old school friend lost her husband to cancer. This was a real wake-up call — a reminder of how fragile life is, and how important it is to do something meaningful in response. It inspired me to step forward, to fight back in the only way I can, and to give back.

In my own life, I’ve been incredibly fortunate. I’ve recently got married and feel so blessed to have a healthy and happy family. At the same time, I’ve seen the devastating impact illness can have on those close to me, and I’ve also faced my own quiet health battles in recent years. I’m so grateful to now be recovered and able to begin training for this challenge.

This trek is more than just a physical journey — it’s deeply personal. It’s about resilience, gratitude, and supporting the vital work of Saint Michael’s Hospice, helping people and their families when they need it most.

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. Thank you so much for your support — it truly means everything.
