Funderbirds Three Yorkshire Peaks Challenge

Clare Vidler is raising money for One Wish Dog Foundation

Three Yorkshire Peaks Challenge / 24 Miles / 12 Hours · 27 June 2026

Founded in 2025 by a small (but mighty!) team of dog lovers, The One Wish Dog Foundation (registered charity no: 1212997) rescues and rehomes unwanted and abandoned dogs in Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire. We provide love and sanctuary to dogs in need, with the goal of finding their "furever" homes.

Story

Two friends, One challenge.

Clare and Jill are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on 27th June 2026 aiming to complete the 24 mile hike in 12 hours.

They have a personal connection to each of the charities and are walking to raise money for targeted projects as outlined below.

PLEASE NOTE ALL YOUR DONATIONS ARE BEING COLLATED VIA ONE WISH DOG FOUNDATION AND WILL BE SPLIT EQUALLY (25% each) BETWEEN THE FOUR CHARITIES AFTER THE EVENT.

RATS ANIMAL RESCUE (Registered charity no: 803364)

Founded in 1984, RATS rescues and re-homes dogs, cats and small mammals. Over the years and with their reputation and legacies growing, they were able to buy a kennels near Buntingford, Hertfordshire, where the dogs are cared for whilst awaiting their forever homes; cats and small mammals continue to be fostered in the Bedford area.

Clare spent 4.5 years volunteering as fundraising and events leader for the charity and her beloved lurcher, Harry, is a RATS rescue. Having recently stepped down from her role, she is now in the process of setting up her own charity, Funderbirds, with fellow fundraiser Lulu Collins, supporting a wide variety of charities and targeted causes, including RATS.

WHERE WILL YOUR DONATION GO?

Jet’s Fund: Jet (our cover girl) is a black Belgian Shepherd. At around a year old, she arrived at the kennels having spent most of her early life confined to a crate with little space, exercise or food, the result of which left her with a body shaped by the neglect - with severe curvature to the spine, her back legs are extremely weak and she struggles to walk. Jet is now in foster and receiving the care she so deserves but due to the complexity of her condition, she requires ongoing hydrotherapy, laser sessions and supplements.

K-9 ANGELS (Registered charity no: 1150314)

Founded in 2012, K-9 Angels was set up to fight against animal suffering worldwide. They provide aid through their shelters.

Romania’s stray dog crisis is devastating, countless dogs suffer through neglect and cruelty. Lacking effective animal welfare laws, many dogs face abandonment, abuse, or inhumane deaths in public shelters. K9-Angels step in to provide care and protection for these dogs, running mass spay and neuter campaigns to humanely control the stray population, preventing the birth of unwanted puppies and reducing animal suffering over time.

ONE WISH DOG FOUNDATION (Registered charity no: 1212997)

Clare and One Wish founder Jenna, met and volunteered together at RATS Animal Rescue when Jenna was leader and key member of the dog team and Clare started running events and fundraising. They both served on the committee prior to Jenna moving to Oxfordshire and setting up One Wish.

WHERE WILL YOUR DONATION GO?

Tally’s fund - Tally, an American bulldog, was One Wishes first intake on their road to rescue. Relentlessly bred from, neglected and starved, she weighed just 23 kgs when she arrived and was covered in mange. In spite of this neglect, Tally was full of trust and affection and now weighs 48kg but has ongoing issues and is in critical need of expensive cruciate surgery - your donation will go towards that surgery.

EMMAS DOG RESCUE (Non Profit Organisation)

A rescue close to Jill’s heart and where her beloved Beagle cross, Henry, comes from. Emma's Dog Rescue is the rehoming section of Roberts Safe Shelter House — a large dog rescue in Cyprus with over 350 dogs waiting for loving homes.

Emma's section of the rescue cares for around 50 dogs daily, preparing and personally matching them to new families. They try to offer a home-from-home environment with sofas to relax on, toys to play with, walks, and plenty of socialisation — this helps the dogs settle into their new homes much more easily.

WHERE WILL YOUR DONATION GO?

Towards food and medical supplies for the dogs at Roberts Safe Shelter House. Emma will be in Cyprus at the time of the walk and will be watching our process closely.
