Story

Join Dr Clare Dickens as she takes on the thrilling challenge of abseiling down Coventry Cathedral to raise awareness and vital funds for suicide prevention!

This daring descent represents not only her commitment to saving lives from suicide but also her dedication to raising essential funds for the Violet Project CIO, supporting Wolverhampton's suicide awareness services.

Clare is the Director of Student Life and University Designated Safeguarding Lead at the University of Wolverhampton and Independent Chair of the City of Wolverhampton Suicide Prevention Stakeholders Forum.

What you may not know is that Clare is terrified of heights! -This makes her fundraising challenge even more incredible, as she steps far outside her comfort zone for a great cause.

Just like abseiling when you're afraid of heights, speaking up about your mental health or talking about thoughts of suicide can seem daunting—but it’s essential to do so to receive the support and care you deserve.

Clare is passionate about making a difference, and through this challenge, she hopes to inspire others to contribute to a cause that raises awareness of mental ill health and suicide. Every donation, no matter how small, will help expand our community development work and save lives.

Help us support this important cause—together, we can make a difference!

Thank you for your generosity and support.
