Who are we? Aurora is a compassionate breast cancer charity dedicated to empowering and supporting young pre-menopausal women affected by breast cancer. We unite together to create a positive network of women to support each other within Wiltshire and Gloucestershire through the challenges of a breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery journey beyond. What do we do? We build local networks for young women that have faced the life-changing diagnosis of breast cancer, in order to ensure they have the knowledge, friendship and support to move forward. How do we do it? Our focus is on providing comprehensive emotional and practical support to young women impacted by breast cancer, where our holistic approach places these women at the center of all we deliver. Outside of their treatment plan we are committed to providing engaging and informative webinars, the chance to connect with local women with shared experiences on weekly walk and talk sessions and heartwarming coffee mornings. We provide dedicated respite through our well-being events and where required psychology sessions to ensure accelerated emotional support. All our activities are delivered within a space where our women feel safe, can connect, uplift one another, and stand together stronger in their journey of healing and recovery. By fostering a united approach, it creates an environment where peer to peer support offer solace, hope and true friendships are formed.

Story

I’m trekking 100km in the Sahara Desert for Aurora Breast Cancer Well-Being – March 2026

In March 2026, I’ll be taking on an incredible challenge: trekking 100km across the Sahara Desert to raise funds for Aurora Breast Cancer Well-Being.

Breast cancer became very real for me in 2022 when, just two weeks after my sister was diagnosed, I received the same devastating news. With no family history, it came as a complete shock. It was a difficult time, but we were lucky to have each other—and even luckier to have the support of Aurora.

Aurora gave us more than just help—they gave us hope. They provided a safe, welcoming space filled with inspiring women who truly understood what we were going through. The support, advice, and sense of community made a huge difference during one of the most frightening times in our lives. Seeing others get stronger gave us the strength to keep going.

Now that I’m well enough, I want to give back—to help Aurora continue their amazing work and support even more women and families through their own journeys.

This trek won’t be easy, but every step I take will be for Aurora and the incredible people it helps. If you’re able to support me, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world.

Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
