Yep, I’m running the London marathon!

is raising money for Norfolk and Norwich Hospitals Charity

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Whilst the NHS provides the necessities, our hospital charity funds projects that make the hospital experience a better one for our patients, visitors and staff. All donations are used where they are needed most across our hospitals to support the best possible care for patients. Thank you.

Story

Those of you who knew me at school might fall off your chair with shock but yes, I am running the London marathon!

I have never run a marathon before, but I really enjoy running in the fresh air with my local running club, Wymondham Athletic Club (WAC) and was lucky enough to get a place through the WAC club ballot. Now that the shock has worn off (which took a couple of weeks - thank you to team WAC who were all very supportive and positive!) I have decided to run for our local hospital (NNUH) charity.

Many of you will know that our eldest daughter Jessica has had various medical issues and we are very grateful to NNUH for all of the treatment and support she has received there. We estimate she has had over 100 appointments and procedures, ranging from nurse telephone calls to most recently, seven hour major spinal surgery.

So I have decided to fundraise for them to thank them for everything they have done and continue to do.

My training is going well so far, and I'll keep this page updated as I participate in various half marathons and other races along the way.

Thank you in advance for sponsoring me and please think lots of positive, energising thoughts on 27 April!
