Story
I will be taking part in the Derby half marathon (the Ramathon) on 4th June. To keep me motivated in my training I have decided to try to raise some funds for the charity Derby County Community Trust.
Each year DCCT raise vital funds which are invested into local programmes, addressing key issues in the community such as health and wellbeing, personal attainment, and community engagement. They have an inclusive, participant centred approach to their work and support people of all ages, gender, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
They currently run over 40 projects, working with individuals from 0 to 100 years old, in over 200 weekly sessions.
DCCT provide life-changing opportunities aiming to give people an opportunity to achieve their goals, develop, and become active and engaged members of the community.
£50 could fund a child, whose family may be suffering financial hardship, through a week of holiday coaching, ensuring they remain active and healthy whilst out of school.
£150 could purchase an electronic tablet that can be used to bridge the digital divide. Keeping an isolated member of the community connected or enabling a household to have an additional device for schoolwork.
£200 could provide one of their learners with the necessary kit needed to fulfil their education course.
Any support you can give would be gratefully received.
Thank you.
Clare
