Story
On Saturday 6th June 2026, the Claret Mountaineers will embark on their most ambitious journey yet — marking our 6th consecutive year of walking to change lives. This dedicated team, comprised of participants from Northampton Town FC Community Trust projects, alongside passionate volunteers and staff, shares a singular vision: to raise awareness and vital funds for programmes that transform lives across our local community.
Over the past five years, this incredible group has raised more than £36,000, directly supporting NTFC Community Trust’s Health & Wellbeing, Disability, and Women & Girls programmes. Since our journey began in 2021, these funds have empowered the Trust to deliver initiatives such as:
• Fit Cobblers — a FREE 12-week healthy lifestyle programme supporting adults aged 30–65 in building long-term healthy habits.
• Inclusive Cerebral Palsy Football sessions.
• The Multi-Disability Football Club, creating opportunities for players of all abilities.
• The ever-growing Walking Football Club.
• Covering vital facility costs for Girls’ PDC sessions.
Thanks to this unwavering support, the Claret Mountaineers have already helped over 600 individuals — from children aged 8 to adults aged 60+ — become more active, confident, and connected. This year’s challenge takes us to the breathtaking yet demanding Pembrokeshire Coast. The team will tackle a challenging 10–12 mile trek along one of the UK’s toughest coastal paths — all in pursuit of making a real difference.
Every pound raised from this year’s challenge will help fund essential health and disability projects including:
• NTFC Pan-Disability Football Club, supporting over 100 participants aged 8–40 to play competitive and inclusive football.
• Cerebral Palsy Football sessions for children and young people aged 10–15.
• Down Syndrome Football sessions for young people and adults aged 14–40+.
• Teammates — a project focused on improving men’s mental wellbeing.
• Healthy lifestyle behaviour change programmes for adults aged 30–65.
Your generous donation will help remove barriers, build confidence, and create opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. By supporting the Claret Mountaineers in this noble cause with a target of £14,000, you’re not just backing a walk; you’re helping to change lives for the better. Thank you for your invaluable support.
