In 2025 I turn 40 and what better way to celebrate than running the London Marathon! I have always wanted to run a marathon and after many failed attempts to get a place, 2025 is my year!!

While the training will be long, grueling and difficult I am fully motivated and getting the opportunity to run is all down to the amazing Acorns Children’s Hospice Charity.

A parent never imagines their child will be diagnosed with a life limiting or life threatening condition. But when the unimaginable happens, Acorns Children’s Hospice steps in, helping families cope at every stage of their child’s life and beyond, wherever and whenever they need it. Their dedicated teams provide specialist palliative care for babies, children and young people, and support for their families.

Acorns is a charity close to my heart, not only did I grow up in the street next to Walsall Acorns, my sister used to volunteer there as a teenager and I used to go with her and see first hand what an amazing place it is! I have also taught several children during my teaching career who have had support and care from the amazing staff at Acorns, making such a difference to the children and their families lives. It truly is such a brilliant charity. It will be an honour to raise money for them and hopefully help them to continue being the brilliant charity that it is!
