This Harvest, our parish/group will be Gathering Together to raise vital funds that will help support families around the world facing poverty and injustice.

Poverty is an issue hat moves me deeply.Millions are starving. Nobody in the world should go without food, one of our most basic needs , a human right.

We live in an affluent society, we can share. Our supermarkets are a mirror of our affluence.

I am trying to live 5 days on £5 . Just £1 a day. I will do it just for 5 days.Millions of people will do it for their whole lives with even less than £1 a day.

I went to the super market to buy rice and lentils which is what I will be mainly living on. It struck me suddenly the abundance of food we have, the choice and also the luxury of some items.

I felt very spoiled
