Story
Starting 1st of July 🏴🎉
Every memorial tells a story.
Behind every name carved into stone was a person who served their country, answered a call to duty, and left a lasting impact on their family, friends and community.
As Events & Communications Coordinator at Legion Scotland, I see first-hand the importance of supporting veterans and preserving remembrance. I also see the difference that support can make to those who have served and their families.
That's why my dog, Zeus, and I are taking on a challenge called:
🐾 Paws for Remembrance
100 Miles • 30 Memorials • 30 Days
Over the course of 30 days, we will walk 100 miles across Edinburgh and East Lothian, visiting 30 war memorials and places of remembrance.
At every stop, we will pause to remember those who served, reflect on the sacrifices made by generations of servicemen and women, and share our journey through a series of "Remembrance Postcards" on social media.
Every memorial we visit represents a community forever changed by conflict. Every engraved name represents a life of service, sacrifice and courage.
Through this challenge, I hope to encourage others to pause, reflect and remember, while raising vital funds for Legion Scotland and the veterans and families we support every day.
