🐾 Paws for Remembrance 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌺

The challenge may be complete... but the journey is only just beginning.

On the 1st of July 2026, my Labrador Zeus, and I set out on a fundraising challenge to support Legion Scotland.

Our goal was simple:

🐾 Visit 30 war memorials in 30 days

🚶 Walk 100 miles

🌺 Raise awareness of Scotland's places of remembrance while raising vital funds for Scotland's veterans and their families.

Together, we achieved more than we ever imagined.

❤️ 111.3 miles walked

👣 228,674 steps

🌺 30 memorials visited

💚 £870 raised (and counting!)

But something unexpected happened along the way.

Paws for Remembrance became much more than a fundraising challenge.

As we explored memorials across Edinburgh and East Lothian, we uncovered remarkable stories, discovered hidden places of remembrance, met incredible people, and realised there is so much more to share. We also began highlighting the importance of caring for our war memorials, helping preserve them for future generations through educational content and practical advice.

That's why Paws for Remembrance isn't ending.

It has become an ongoing project dedicated to:

🌺 Visiting war memorials across Scotland.

📖 Sharing the stories behind them.

🕊️ Promoting remembrance all year round.

🛠️ Raising awareness of memorial care and conservation.

❤️ Supporting the vital work of Legion Scotland.

Every memorial has a story to tell. Every name deserves to be remembered.

While our original challenge has finished, our fundraising page remains open because our mission continues. Every donation, no matter the size, helps Legion Scotland continue providing lifelong support to veterans, serving personnel and their families across Scotland.
