Story
Claudia and Amelia (Moo) are taking on the challenge of cycling from London to Amsterdam - not just for the adventure, but to raise money for a cause close to their hearts.
They’re riding 160 miles in two days in support of 'Empowering Kids in Kenya', a UK registered charity that provides free secondary school education to the poorest children in the Bombolulu, Kenya.
Education is one of the most powerful ways to break the cycle of poverty and your support will directly help these children access the learning, nourishment and opportunities. But this charity goes beyond just education by offering a safe place for the children, clothing, food, love and support.
They are raising funds to:
1. Install a new water pump for the school and wider village, ensuring safe, accessible water for all.
2. Complete the building extension to provide more children with a safe place to learn.
3. Install renewable energy, reducing disruption caused by the school’s long and frequent power outages.
As it stands, Claudia is training on a fixie and Moo is still recovering from a fractured spine. Not to mention that their longest training ride has been 10 miles!
They are expecting this to test their legs and spirit, but are fuelled by a much bigger purpose.
Every penny raised goes to making a difference in Kenya. There is no donation too small.
A very big thank you in advance.
(Let’s hope they are are still friends after all 160 miles!)
