🏔️ Tour du Mont Blanc Trek for Brighter Horizons

On 25 and 26 July, a team of twenty from Clearance Capital will be taking on two demanding stages of the world-famous Tour du Mont Blanc to raise funds for Brighter Horizons, an exceptional charity supporting adults with learning disabilities and neurodivergent adults in southeast London.

Since 2021, we have raised and donated more than £250,000 to charities and community causes. This year, we are aiming to make an even greater impact.

⭐ Every Donation Will Be Doubled

Clearance Capital will match every donation received through this page on a pound-for-pound basis, up to a total of £15,000.

To demonstrate our commitment and confidence that we will meet our target, we have already made a £7,500 contribution. Every pound you donate will therefore have twice the impact.

💡 Why We Are Supporting Brighter Horizons

Brighter Horizons was established in 2016 by two parents following the closure of local authority respite services in Lewisham, Southeast London. Today, the charity supports more than 65 adults every week through a wide range of activities designed to promote independence, develop life skills, build confidence and create meaningful social connections.

Alongside its day centre services, Brighter Horizons operates its own transport network and runs Ignition Brewery, an award-winning social enterprise that provides training and employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities.

The charity's impact is tangible and visible. Demand for its services continues to grow, with a substantial waiting list of people seeking support.

To meet this demand, Brighter Horizons has secured a new long-term home that will allow its day centre and brewery operations to come together under one roof. Funds raised through this challenge will help complete the essential fit-out works required before occupation, including:

• Accessible restroom facilities

• A dedicated sensory room

• Internal room partitioning and activity spaces

• Secure access and safeguarding systems

One of our portfolio managers, Kieran Lee, has been involved with Brighter Horizons since its formation in 2016 and currently serves as Chair of Trustees, giving us first-hand insight into the charity's work and the difference it makes every day.

🥾 The Challenge

The team will trek from La Flégère to Champex-Lac via Trient, covering two challenging stages of the Tour du Mont Blanc.

Over the course of two days we will tackle:

• More than 33 kilometres of alpine trekking

• Approximately 2,600 metres of elevation gain

• Steep mountain terrain and unpredictable weather conditions

While the challenge will test us physically, it is insignificant compared with the daily challenges faced by many of the people supported by Brighter Horizons.

🎯 Our Goal

In our last fundraising event, 15 members of the Clearance Capital team completed the Ten Peaks Challenge in under twelve hours and raised more than £30,000 for Bookmark, the children's literacy charity.

This year we are aiming even higher.
