The Climb From Darkness

Russell Payne is raising money for Lost City Project - Construction Sport and Band of Builders

Sunrise climb of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) · 11 May 2025

The construction industry has a suicide rate 4x the national average. It's a crisis, but one that's relatively unknown outside the industry. The Lost City project aims to raise £2.5 million to fund therapy sessions for tradespeople across the UK.

Story

On Sat 10/5 - Sun 11/5 A group of former guests and people connected to The Talking Tradesman Podcast will set out to climb mount Snowdon - with a twist, we are going to climb through the night, with the aim of reaching the summit for sunrise ☀️

We will do this to symbolise the climb through mental health darkness that so many people in the trades suffer, but climb into the light - to raise awareness that one step at a time, things can improve - you can climb out of the darkness 💚

We will do this whilst raising mental health awareness and raising funds through support for Project 7000 - The lost City, see detailed below

Project 7,000 - The Lost City, addresses the suicide crisis happening in the construction industry. The project is powered by On The Tools and aims to raise £2.5million for Construction Sport and Band of Builders. This will fund life-saving mental health support for 7,000 tradespeople in the UK.
