Michael's fundraiser for KidsAid

Michael Quinn is raising money for KidsAid

KidsAid works with children and their families, where a child is suffering from trauma caused by bereavement, bullying, illness, family breakdown, domestic violence, through to cases of physical and sexual abuse.

Story

I am taking on an intense winter endurance challenge to support KidsAid, a fantastic charity that provides vital therapeutic support to children and young people who have experienced severe trauma, abuse, neglect, and bereavement. Through professional therapies like play, art, and drama, KidsAid helps these vulnerable children heal, build resilience, and reclaim their futures. Every single penny matters: because I am completely self-funding all of my own fuel, gear, and travel costs for this event, 100% of the funds raised on this page go directly to KidsAid to fund these life-changing therapy sessions for the kids who need them most. Please donate what you can to help break the cycle of childhood trauma.

To earn your donations, I am taking on a grueling, multi-peak winter endurance test completely solo. My shift begins at 06:00 AM in the pitch black, climbing to the freezing, windswept 1,085m summit of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) under a headtorch. Once back down, the real endurance test begins: I will navigate the winding, demanding 145-mile stretch of the A470 through the spine of Wales entirely on my own. I will finish the day by pushing through intense physical exhaustion to climb Pen y Fan in the South Wales twilight, completing a massive 8 hours of mountain hiking and 4.5 hours of intense driving all in a single day. This is a true test of stamina, and I appreciate every bit of support you can give.

KidsAid is a child-centred charity. We focus on prevention, healing and empowerment for children and families affected by abuse, family breakdown, illness, and bereavement through to anxiety, depression, self-harm, and suicide.

We take a three-pronged approach to our work with children that includes therapeutic support for the individual child, support for parents or care givers and support for professionals working with children.

Our vision is to safeguard children so that early life trauma does not become a lifelong burden.
