Story
Hi All
I’ve decided to take on one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever faced and always wanted to do — run the London Marathon — and I’m doing it for a cause that makes every mile worth it: WellChild.
Taking on 26.2 miles is something I never imagined I would do be able to do at one point, having nearly lost my foot after developing a serious infection. It was an incredibly frightening and challenging experience, and it gave me a completely different perspective on health and just how quickly life can change. Thankfully, I was incredibly lucky, and I’m now in a position where I can challenge myself to run a marathon — something I’m extremely grateful for.
My reason for choosing WellChild is deeply personal. Through a friend that have experienced this charity first hand, I’ve seen the difference the charity can make to a child with complex needs and their family. WellChild supports children and young people living with complex medical needs and helping them to live as independently and comfortably as possible at home and to give their families the quality of life for caring for their child.
Knowing what it feels like to face a serious health challenge has made this cause even more meaningful to me.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how much, I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation will help me get closer to my fundraising target and, more importantly, help WellChild continue supporting children and families when they need it most.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting me, every step of the 26.2 miles.
Clinton
