Story
I'm taking part in the Big Blue Bike Ride on 8 September 2024 to raise vital funds and awareness of prostate cancer.
By the way, that's me on the left - I am 73 years old now. My son Tim is the baby. He is now just coming up to 55 years old and he has prostate cancer.
1 in 8 men are affected by prostate cancer in the UK. That’s thousands of dads, partners, brothers and mates. But it doesn't have to be this way.
Here are some stats from Prostate Cancer UK:
- Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men.
- More than 52,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year on average – that's 144 men every day.
- Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 12,000 men every year.
- 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
- Around 490,000 men are living with and after prostate cancer.
Your donations can help save men’s lives. Please give what you can.
