In memory of Clive Barker

Story

This is the JustGiving page, set up in memory of Clive Barker who passed away on 4th April 2024.

Clive was a keen mountaineer and rock climber in his formative years and shared his passion for the outdoors with his family throughout his life.

We have therefore chosen to fundraise for Buxton Mountain Rescue in tribute to Clive’s love of climbing and to ensure that all can enjoy the mountains with the reassurance that Mountain Rescue is there to keep us safe.

Notably, in 1964, Clive was part of the volunteer group that searched for the missing scouts from the Four Inns Walk. The disaster directly led to the formation of the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation.

We would like to do something positive during our time of sadness so for those wishing to donate to his memory we thank you for your support.
