Swansea Mind is a mental health charity based in the heart of Swansea that helps service-users who self-refer because they are experiencing difficulties with their mental health as well as users referred by Health, Local Authority and other third party organisations.

Their small Day Services Team has three distinct service arms:

1. Group Support offering peer to peer and professional support in five social groups including Walk & Talk, Peri-natal, and three groups that involve cognitive behavioural therapy techniques - Anxiety Support, Depression support, and Building Self-esteem.

2. Individual Support is offered in three ways including

Active Monitoring - a guided self-help six week programme dealing with Anxiety, Depression,Self-Esteem,Stress,Feeling Alone,Managing Anger and Grief & Loss.

Befriending - a service offering clients who are lonely the opportunity to receive a weekly wellbeing call from one of our volunteers.

Digital Inclusion - clients are offered support to get 'online' as another route to reducing isolation.

3. Counselling

The Team provides personalised counselling one-to-one, online or by phone.

In an average year, Swansea Mind supports around 1000 people directly and reaches approximately 2,000. Activities are geared towards developing individual personalised plans for mental health improvement with appropriate evaluation and monitoring.
